TransCanada Corporation operates as an energy infrastructure company in North America. The company operates through three segments: Natural Gas Pipelines, Liquids Pipelines, and Energy. The Natural Gas Pipelines segment transports natural gas to local distribution companies, power generation facilities, and other businesses through a network of regulated natural gas pipelines and storage facilities. It owns and operates a network of 67,300 kilometers (km) of regulated natural gas pipelines; and regulated natural gas storage facilities with a total capacity of 250 billion cubic feet (Bcf). The Liquids Pipelines segment owns and operates Keystone pipeline system of 4,247 km for the transportation of crude oil from Hardisty, Alberta to Wood River and Patoka in Illinois; Cushing, Oklahoma; and Port Arthur, Texas. This segment also operates Cushing Marketlink and Terminal facilities to transport crude oil from the market hub at Cushing, Oklahoma to the Port Arthur, Texas refining market. The Energy segment owns, controls, or develops approximately 13,100 MW of generation capacity powered by natural gas, nuclear, coal, hydro, wind, and solar assets; wholesales and retails electricity; and owns or controls regulated and unregulated natural gas storage facilities. It operates 19 electrical power generation plants and 2 non-regulated natural gas storage facilities in Alberta, Ontario, Québec, and New Brunswick in Canada; and New York, New England, and Arizona in the United States.
