Wyndham Destinations is the world's largest hotel company, with 8,336 properties; in addition, the company manages around 10,000 North American vacation rentals (Wyndham is scheduled to sell its European vacation segment in 2018, which had 110,000 rental properties), owns 222 resorts, and possesses a vacation exchange platform with 3.9 million members. Ramada, Super 8, Days Inn, and Howard Johnson make up 70% of hotel rooms, with 60% of all rooms falling in the economy scale. Fee-for-service contributes 60% of total revenue (derived from lodging, vacation exchange and rental, and time-share management), with the rest coming from time-share ownership sales. The La Quinta acquisition will add roughly 900 upper-midscale hotels once the deal closes, scheduled for the second quarter of 2018.
